DNA has in it genomes which control such human characteristics as hair color, length of bone, and recessive diseases such as Albinism. In a typical isolated society similar characteristics are evident in most, if not all, inhabitants. Through inbreeding, recessive diseases are frequent, if present at all.
 
The occurence of genome similarity in isolated environments is frequent. In many cases in history, explorers have stumbled upon entire cities where the people within had not intermingled with outsiders for centuries. Such is the case of the Vampires of Transylvania...
